A MODERN AND IMPROVED SHOPPING CENTRE FOR NORTH ORANGE

SCA Property Group is the owner of North Orange Shopping Centre and is proposing a change to the Local Environmental Plan. If successful this will allow for an expansion of the North Orange Shopping Centre.

The proposed expansion involves a change to the floor space ratio (FSR) that currently applies to the North Orange Shopping Centre. A Development Application (DA) for an expansion of the Centre will also be lodged. This process should take 10 months before any approval is given.

If approved this expansion will provide increased more choice, convenience and amenity for its local community.

North Orange Shopping Centre is currently anchored by a Woolworths Supermarket and has 14 speciality shops. It is the heart of a supermarket precinct catering for the growing North Orange residential area and other centres outside the Orange City Council boundaries.

The existing FSR standard already provides for the addition of a new small supermarket on the site.

If the change to the FSR standard is approved, the expanded centre will also include:

  • A new full line modern supermarket in addition to the existing Woolworths supermarket.
  • Additional complementary smaller retail shops such as food retail and food catering (takeaway) shops and retail services such as hairdressers, beauticians, and drycleaners.
  • An improved and expanded carpark including additional entry and exit points.

An improved back of house delivery road and areas for delivery trucks was the subject of a previous approval by the Orange City Council for an extension to the existing Woolworths supermarket.

Once completed North Orange Shopping Centre will be the most modern supermarket complex of its kind in the Central West and will provide a new level of supermarket shopping for the people of Orange and the surrounding area.
